This type of loan does not require collateral, however it is harder to get as the lender has no protection against default. You would need a good credit history to get this type of loan.

The internet has created more competition for everything. This makes it easier for you to compare lenders, and get the lowest possible rate with terms that you can live with.

Anyone who is getting a higher education can apply. You will need valid proof of identity and address. If you are applying for a secured loan you will need proof of ownership of your collateral. Another bonus would be a cosigner with good credit.
The rates and terms.
Generally the rates are lower for student loans. The rates vary a lot depending on the lender, your credit rating, and financial profile. The repayment time can run from 3 to 25 years.
Anyone who wants to succeed in life can do it. Just because you were not born with a silver spoon in your mouth does not mean that you can not get that college degree. As with anything else, it may require some work on your part. If it was easy, everyone would have a college degree! So you can complain about no one handing you a free college ride, or you can do the leg work and get one. Excuses are easy!
